Mark Broers, Competitive Head Coach
-
-
- After leading the El Camino High girls junior varsity soccer team to an undefeated season in 1999, Mark accepted the head coaching position for Crossfire 84. This season's emphasis will be on "total soccer," which requires all players to contribute on both offense and defense. Mark's goal will be to improve the team's offensive potency, while maintaining its defensive strength from a year ago.
Prior to his El Camino High coaching job, Mark was trainer for the Livermore Soccer Club's U12 and U13 boys' comp teams and also coached an U19 men's team, which traveled to Holland to compete in the Coca-Cola Cup. In the mid-90s, he coached the boys' teams at Livermore's Granada High for three seasons.
As a player, Mark was 1989 captain and team MVP of the Cal State University, Sacramento Hornets soccer team and earned the same honors on the Livermore High varsity team where he was first-team all league and a scholar athlete for three years. His Livermore club team was 1984 Western Regional Champions and California State Cup Champs.
